What this site is

Campaign Cash Map republishes and summarizes public campaign finance filings from the Federal Election Commission and public state law sources. It is provided free of charge for public information. It is not affiliated with the FEC, any government agency, campaign, party or PAC.

Use of the data

You may read, cite, link to and reproduce the aggregate figures, charts and analysis on this site, with attribution to Campaign Cash Map and the Federal Election Commission.

Contributor information. Federal law (52 U.S.C. 30111(a)(4) and 11 CFR 104.15) prohibits the sale or use of information about individual contributors copied from FEC reports for the purpose of soliciting contributions (including charitable contributions) or for any commercial purpose. By using this site you agree not to use any contributor information found here for those purposes, not to compile or export contributor lists for solicitation, marketing or resale, and not to assist anyone else in doing so. The site does not provide bulk downloads of contributor records.

Automated access that burdens the service (scraping at high rates, mirroring the whole site) is not permitted without permission. The FEC publishes the same underlying data in bulk at fec.gov for anyone who needs it.

Accuracy

The data is only as accurate as the reports filed with the FEC, and the FEC's processing of those reports runs weeks to months behind. Amendments change figures. Spending categories, outside-spending matches, transparency grades and state law grades involve judgment and may contain errors. The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and nothing on it is legal, financial or investment advice. Always check the linked FEC record before relying on a figure.

Non-partisanship

Every candidate, party and group is measured by the same rules. Nothing on this site is an endorsement of or opposition to any candidate, party or ballot question.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its contents. This limitation applies to direct, indirect, incidental and consequential loss of any kind.

Governing law

These terms are governed by United States federal law and, where it applies, the law of the state where the site is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in effect.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top will show when they last did. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
